Company information
Plastiz is an Italian startup that transforms waste and plastic waste into a new 100% recycled and recyclable material, intended for the world of design and architecture.
Each panel tells the story of the waste with which it was created and gives new value to bottles, caps, reels, coffee capsules and more, which would otherwise be burned or sent to landfill.
Founded in 2021 in Turin, Plastiz was born as an entrepreneurial response to the environmental and social emergency resulting from the growing invasion of plastic waste. A concrete contribution to the processes of the circular economy through the valorisation of waste plastic material through the creation of a new high quality material, with low environmental impact and high aesthetic value, with textures in which it is possible to "read" the process of recycling.
Plastic represents one of the most complex emerging challenges to environmental sustainability, particularly for future generations. Every year over 400 million tons of plastic waste are produced worldwide which inevitably pollute the land and oceans. Italy is among the top countries in Europe for plastic consumption. According to the WWF, every 5 days Italians generate 1 kg of plastic waste for a total of approximately 5.5 million tons per year, of which 70% does not end up in recycling.
Through the thermoforming of large quantities of plastic waste previously transformed into raw material, Plastiz creates large format panels in different thicknesses for countless applications in architecture and design projects: from shelves to wall tiles, indoor and outdoor furniture, accessories and design objects .
Plastiz panels are divided into three main families: Marble, for panels that reproduce marble and stone effects; Pixel, for a pop and contemporary look; Glass, for transparent and translucent panels similar to glass.
The process developed by Plastiz - whose innovative scope lies in the rethinking of the manufacturing process compared to traditional methods, which allows for a precise texture design of the products and the use of large quantities of waste - does not aim to replace the processes of the traditional recycled plastic supply chain, but on the contrary, it intends to integrate and innovate them with a view to encouraging the development of circular processes.
Plastiz combines traditional business activities with awareness-raising actions on environmental sustainability, circular economy and sustainable entrepreneurship. Through workshops, team building and events, Plastiz aims to involve citizens, associations, public institutions and companies to promote greater environmental and social awareness.
